LB-456088-1 LEFT BUNDLE BRANCH AREA PACING COMPARED TO BIVENTRICULAR PACING FOR CARDIAC RESYNCHRONIZATION THERAPY: RESULTS FROM INTERNATIONAL LBBAP COLLABORATIVE STUDY GROUP
نویسندگان
چکیده
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) with biventricular pacing (BVP) is well-established in patients reduced left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), heart failure and wide QRS or indication for pacing. BVP achieves CRT through non-physiological fusion of paced wave-fronts from the RV endocardium LV epicardium. Conduction system utilizing bundle branch area has recently shown to be a safe more physiologic alternative BVP. The aim this study was compare clinical outcomes between LBBAP among undergoing CRT.

Although the estimates from limited studies vary on the proportion of patients with heart failure who also have ventricular dyssynchrony as reflected by a prolonged QRS complex, often in the form of left bundle branch block, the number of such patients is large (27% to 53%) and it is certainly in excess of the rate for the general population. Among these patients, 10% to 15% are candidates for ...
متن کاملHis Bundle Pacing Or Biventricular Pacing For Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy In Heart Failure: Discovering New Methods For An Old Problem.
Heart failure (HF) is one of the biggest epidemics of modern cardiovascular medicine. Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) with biventricular (BiV) pacing has proven to have an integral role in the management of patients with reduced left ventricular (LV) function and left bundle branch blocks (LBBB). However, CRT with BiV pacing is not always feasible and even when it is, the percentage of ...

BACKGROUND We investigated the benefits of the more physiological activation achieved by left ventricular (LV) endocardial pacing (ENDO) as compared with conventional epicardial (EPI) LV pacing in cardiac resynchronization therapy. METHODS AND RESULTS In 8 anesthetized dogs with experimental left bundle-branch block, pacing leads were positioned in the right atrium, right ventricle, and at 8 ...
متن کاملCardiac pacing in left bundle branch/bifascicular block patients.
The primary concern in patients with bifascicular block is the increased risk of progression to complete heart block. Further, an additional first-degree A-V block in patients with bifascicular block or LBBB might increase the risk of block progression. Anesthesia, monitoring and surgical techniques can induce conduction defects and bradyarrhythmias in patients with pre-existing bundle branch b...
متن کاملAlternative techniques for left ventricular pacing in cardiac resynchronization therapy.
Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is an important treatment modality for a well-defined subgroup of heart failure patients. Coronary sinus (CS) lead placement is the first-line clinical approach but the insertion is unsuccessful in about 5-10% of the patients. In recent years, the number of CRT recipients and the considerable need for left ventricular (LV) lead revisions increased enormou...
